- On 23.04.2024 ahead of the 2024 general elections, Bhubaneswar UPD is ramping up security measures to ensure a safe and fair electoral process. Vigilant efforts include blocking and checking at key locations to curb illegal activities. Foot patrolling and flag marches are underway for added security. - On 23.04.24, 39 offenders booked -21 four-wheelers were booked by traffic PS 1 and 18 by traffic PS 2 under the supervision of Sri PK Rout DCP Traffic along with Sri Jayant Kumar Dora ACP Traffic and fined Rs 2,05,000 for illegal films on vehicle glasses. Let’s keep our roads safe and crime-free!

- On 13.04.2024 Swift action by Bhubaneswar UPD cracked Case No 276/24, revealing a notorious burglary gang’s operations. Accused persons Kajal, Bitu, Madhu & Sudam and ( Owner of Jagannath Jewellery) receiver nabbed, along with seized items. The gang’s modus operandi and extensive criminal record underscore the need for vigilant community policing.
- Cyber Awareness Program at Bentakar Nodal High School under 42 Mauza PS, Cuttack on 13.04.2024 for 100 students was organised and the children learned about vital cyber safety tips, session was taken by Inspector Rashmita, Cyber PS, Cuttack. Let’s empower our children with digital resilience!

- On 05.04.2024 Info Valley PS of Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar UPD uncovered a robbery masterminded by Somanath Jena, Dipti Ranjan Baliarsingh, Asish Kumar Das, and Smrutiranjan Sethi. Seized items comprise 3 motorcycles pivotal to the crime, a scooter, 3 mobile phones, and a significant cash haul totaling Rs. 9,69,000/-. The recovered money was returned instantly to the complainant.
- On 03.04.2024 Commissionerate Police cracks down on inter-state Eragolla gang responsible for a spree of crimes including gold chain snatching, dicky breaking, car glass breaking, and cash bag snatching. 11 accused gang members had been arrested.

- On 27.03.2024 Special Crime Unit made a major bust, and recovered 5 semi-automatic weapons, seized a car, mobile phone, and 24 rounds of ammunition. With 2 main suspects named Suraj Parida and Tapudhar Nayak in custody, this marks the latest success in 2024’s crackdown, total of 17 weapons seized so far.
- On 25.03.2024 Commissioner of Police, Sri Sajeeb Panda chaired a special meeting, joined by Addl. CP Awinash Kumar and DCP Bhubaneswar Sri Prateek Singh. Each Inspector-in-Charge of Bhubaneswar UPD presented their action taken reports and future plans. Commissioner Sir emphasized key points including strict enforcement of blocking and checking, combating drunken driving, resolving pending cases, executing pending Non-Bailable Warrants (NBW), and displaying names of evading arrestees publicly.
- A felicitation ceremony at Commissionerate Police Hdqrs., Bhubaneswar on 24.03.2024 honoring the dedication and meticulous efforts of 24 Public Prosecutors, 50 Investigating officers in securing convictions 83 nos in 2023 and 27 in 2024 (till 24.03.2024). Also, we gave appreciation to the Public who helped the Police in detecting and recovering property in different cases.
- Due to the diligent efforts of Commissioner of Police, Sri Sanjeeb Panda, continuous blocking and checking operations have led to the detection of an accused involved in over 21 house burglary cases in Bhubaneswar on 24.03.2024. These operations, meticulously supervised by the Commissioner of Police have been instrumental in apprehending the accuseds, who had multiple pending cases against them.

- Flag-off ceremony of new PCR vehicle at Commissionerate Hqrs., Bhubaneswar on 15.03.2024, thanked National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) for sponsoring 5 PCR Vans. In a ceremony marked by camaraderie and collaboration, NALCO officials joined hands with Police Commissionerate authorities to officially present the vehicles, ensuring public safety and security. - On 10.03.2024 Akhandalamani Jubak Sangha, in collaboration with IRCS and Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack organized a blood donation camp at VSS Nagar Durga Puja Mandap, Bhubaneswar. Total 62 units of blood were collected, kudos to CP Sanjeeb Panda IPS for inaugurating and leading by example, donating blood with DCP Prateek Singh and DC Lalitendu Mohanty.
- ‘She Walks with Times’ – a Walkathon organized by Optimal Media Solution (OMS)- The Times of India, celebrated International Women’s Day 2024 by honouring women’s achievements, promoting gender equity, and empowering women together. Women Police personnel of Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack joined the walkathon from Kalinga Hospital Square to Damana Square on March 8, 2024, at 6:00 AM.
