- Always ensure that your doors are locked from inside.
- Always switch on the front and rear lights during night time.
- Keep your valuables in the lockers of the bank and take them out only when you require them.
- Never hand over huge cash, gold etc. to your helps for transportation.
- Inform the police about movement of strangers in your locality.
- Keep a close watch and inform the police about suspicious sales man, plumber etc.

- Do not disturb the scene of the crime so as to enable the police to obtain vital clues.

- Furnish all descriptive particulars of the criminals i.e. age, complexion, built or any particular identification marks.
- Do not exaggerate the crime details while reporting to the police.

- Avoid heavy cash payments as far as possible especially in the presence of outsiders.
