On 19.12.2024 Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner Dr. S. Devadatta Singh led a review meeting on crime investigation and control situation in the commissionerate area. IICs of all the police stations in the commissionerate area attended the meeting.
On 18.12.2024 a preparatory meeting for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD)2025 was conducted with Hoteliers of Bhubaneswar under the leadership of Dr. S. Dev Dutta Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. The focus was to ensure robust security measures at each place of stay during the 3-day long event.
To ensure a safe, secure, and seamless experience for visitors during Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD)2025, on 18.12.2024 our officers undergo specialised training in behavioural etiquette, advanced crowd and traffic management, and building trust and hospitality.

On 16.11.2024 Commissionerate police welcomed IPS probationers and shared ideas on urban policing and challenges in present times. Overall policing scenarios and challenges for police in Odisha state were also discussed.

The Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, conducted a Cyclone Preparedness Awareness Drive on 24th October 2024 at Baya Baba Matha Basti in collaboration with Police Mitras, as part of the “Basti Ku Chala” scheme. Residents were sensitized about the approaching Cyclone “Dana” and provided safety guidelines, including staying indoors and contacting local police stations in emergencies.
To combat expected cyclone, “Dana” Commissioner of Police, Sri Suresh Dev Datta Singh, IPS, held a video conference meeting on 22.10.2024 with all IICs of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack and field functionaries to prepare for the cyclone situation. Officers have been directed to stay alert, equipped and ready to ensure public safety and effective service. Coordination with relevant agencies will be prioritized to minimize impact. Let’s work together to protect our communities and stay prepared as per the checklist.
Dt. 21.10.2024 on this 65th Police Commemoration Day, we bow our heads in deep respect and gratitude to the brave souls who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice is a source of constant inspiration and we will not go it in vain.
On 11.10.2024 Commissionerate Police, Cuttack UPD opened 35 aid posts in the town which will be functioning during the evening hours from 4.00 pm to 12 midnight or till the clearance of the major traffic & crowd. During Ashtami and Dashmi, the aid posts will be functional in the morning hours also. We are dedicated to serving the people. We appeal to all people to help the police in ensuring a peaceful Puja season.
On 10.10.2024 the Commissioner of Police, BBSR -CTC, Sri Dev Datta Singh, in the presence of DCP Bhubaneshwar UPD, Sri Pinak Mishra launched a special motorcycle patrolling named as “SHAKTI BAHINI”. This special initiative focuses on women’s and children’s safety during the Dussehra Festival. 40 women police officers and 20 motorcycles will augment the already existing Police arrangements. This proactive measure is aimed at preventing crimes against women, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
On 09.10.2024 Addl. CP BBSR-CTC, Dr. Umashankar Dash, IPS, DCP Bhubaneswar, Sri Pinak Mishra, IPS, in the presence of Addl. DCP, Bhubaneswar UPD, Sri Suresh Patra and DCP Traffic Sri Tapas Das briefed all deployed officers to outline the security and traffic arrangements for Durga Puja. The Key areas discussed included force deployment, crime prevention strategies, and dedicated traffic and parking management to ensure smooth movement for devotees.
On 09.10.2024 Cyber Fraud Return Mela was organized at Commissionerate Hdqrs., Bhubaneswar to return the recovered amount lost by the victims through different ways of Cyber Frauds. In the month of September 2024, we have refunded an amount of Rs. 49,00,000/-.

On 24.09.2024 205 units of blood were collected under the aegis of XIM University organised by IRCS, RB, Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. CP Sri Sanjeeb Panda, IPS graced the camp as Chief Guest and inaugurated the camp in the presence of Registrar Mr. Antony, Pr Jyoti Sahoo & DC & Joint Sec., Sri Lalitendu Mohanty. The Red Cross blood bank of Bhubaneswar collected the blood.
On 23.9.2024, the Officer trainees of the North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA), Shillong visited the Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack to gain an in-depth understanding of urban policing systems. The group, comprising five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) and ten Sub-Inspectors (SIs) from Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur, called on Sanjeeb Panda, Commissioner of Police. On this occasion, Commissioner of Police, Sri Sanjeeb Panda, addressed the trainees and provided an extensive overview and operations of the Twin City Commissionerate system.

Raman Global University, Department of Computer Science & Engineering on 21.09.2024 Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar under Supervision – ACP Ms. Anjana Tudu, OPS and the session was taken by Mr. Satyanarayan Roy Mohapatra, Cyber Expert and Advisory Volunteer, Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. He enlightened on what is Cyber Crime, how to prevent cybercrime and cyber attacks, how to report on 1930 and Chakshu Portal of www.sancharsaathi.gov.in.
A voluntary blood donation camp was organized on 20.09.2024 by IRCS, RB, Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack association with Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar. DC & Joint Secretary Sri Lalitendu Mohanty, organised the camp. A total of 101 units of blood were collected by the Capital Hospital Blood Bank, Bhubaneswar.
Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to Odisha, a security review was conducted on 16.09.2024, discussing peace and law enforcement measures. Stringent protocols, including a no-fly zone, enhanced checks, and specialized unit deployments, are in place to ensure a smooth and secure event.
In association with the Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack and the Bagchi Sri Shankar Cancer Center and Research Institute, Bhubaneswar, organized a cancer awareness program in the conference hall of the Commissionerate Office, Bhubaneswar on 05.09.2024. The event was held under the guidance of Commissioner of Police, Sri Sanjeeb Panda, IPS and Addl. DCP, Sri Prakash Ch. Pal, with the goal of raising awareness among police personnel and offering support for their well-being.

Badagada P.S Case No 511, Dt 26.07.2024, U/S 303(2) BNS was detected on 30.08.2024. Investigating a series of motorcycle theft cases registered in Badagada, Lingaraj, Dhauli and Laxmi Sagar P.Ss Commissionerate Police BBSR UPD nabbed a Six member well-organized motorcycle lifter gang and seized as many as 31 stolen motorcycles and master keys used for theft of vehicles. This gang is active in coastal areas and also involved in Balanga, Kakatpur, Nimapara, Gop, Ramchandi P.S cases.

On 27.8.2024, the Commissionerate Police signed MOU with the Bank of Baroda on the Salary Package. The MOU was signed in a function held at the Conference Hall of Commissionerate Police Headquarters. Sri Sanjeeb Panda, Commissioner of Police attended the function as chief guest. The Incident:- Acting upon a piece of credible information that some illegal activities are going on at the third floor of a 04 storied building situated at plot No – 2159 / 7010, Mahadev Nagar, Jharpada, P.S – Laxmisagar, BBSR, Commissionerate Police conducted a raid and nabbed one suspect. Seized SIMBOXES and other electronic items used to run the SIMBOXES. Further investigation on this issue is going on.

On National Anti-Ragging Week, Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar, led by ACP Anjana Tudu and Team conducted a Talk on Anti-Ragging, Cyber Security Awareness Workshop and HER Teamwork for over 100 teachers and students at the PG Dept. of Commerce, Utkal University on 14.08.2024.
Due to the increasing traffic in Bhubaneswar, the Commissioner of Police, Sri Sanjeeb Panda & DCP, Prateek Singh, launched an initiative to tackle the issue on 14.08.2024. In collaboration with the Traffic Training School and their guidance, the Taj Vivanta group, Bhubaneswar DN Square, part of IHCL and Tata Group, introduced a Corporate Traffic Warden Volunteer Program.
Operation White Spider-Under Khandagiri PS Case No. 546, dated 13.08.2024, we intercepted a vehicle loaded with 101 kg of Ganja near Kharvel Park, Bhubaneswar. Two individuals were arrested: Sanjib Kumar Sethi @ Muna (34) from Kandhamal, Badal Mahakud (26) from Kandhamal. Seized: Ashok Leyland Dost Plus, Tempo No. OD-02-CA-4339, 101 KG of Ganja, Two Mobile Phones.
On 10.08.2024, the Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack organized a Property Return Mela where 103 recovered stolen/missing mobile phones, 11 vehicles and 26 pieces of gold/silver jewelry were handed over to their rightful owners. Our ongoing efforts have led to the recovery of 1,153 stolen/missing mobile phones this year, with 950 already returned to their owners.
Godrej & Boyce, in collaboration with IRCS & Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, successfully organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Pahala, Bhubaneswar, on 08.08.2024. Inaugurated by Shri Sanjeeb Panda, IPS, Commissioner of Police, the camp collected 51 units of blood, contributing to the community’s health. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all donors and volunteers!

On 01.08.2024, over 450 raincoats provided by SBI, Bhubaneswar Circle with GM Network-1 Sri Appam Alam M, Manoj Kumar Singh (DGM & CDO), Alok Kumar Sinha (DGM RCWM), and Biswajit Mishra (AGM) were distributed to traffic personnel at Police Sewa Bhawan, BBSR lobby. This CSR activity aims to support our dedicated officers during rain showers. Present were DCP Sri Prateek Singh and Commissioner of Police Sri Sanjeeb Panda.

On 30.07.2024 The Police Commissionerate Bhubaneswar-Cuttack successfully completed its 1st Summer Cyber Security Internship Program 2024! From May 27 to July 30, 10 talented computer science students from top colleges in the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack UPD region delved into the world of cybersecurity, guided by industry experts.
On 29.07.2024 a notorious firearms syndicate was busted, involved in illegal arms supply, extortion, vandalism, murder and more. The head of the syndicate is Rashmi Ranjan Swain and his close associate Utkal Keshari Khuntia. He procures fire arms with his other associates from Munger, Bihar and sells them in Odisha operating from Cuttack. Arrested accused have more than 20 criminal cases and antecedents. Seized: 5 firearms, ammo, vehicles.
28th July, on World Hepatitis Day at Police Commissionerate Bhubaneswar-Cuttack in support of Prof. Manoj Sahoo and Team, Trusty of Gastro-Liver Care Foundation, conducted an awareness and health screening program including LFT, ECG, and Fibro Scan for more than 150 police personnel and slum dwellers. With the theme: “It’s time for action.”
On 22.07.2024 Commissionerate Police, led by CP Sanjeeb Panda & DCP Prateek Singh, intensified their drive against drunken driving. Result: 124 vehicles seized (46 nos. of four-wheelers and 36 Motorbikes. The Bhubaneswar – Traffic Police Station-I seized 10 four wheelers and Traffic Police Station-II seized 32 vehicles including one two-wheeler) Let’s keep our roads safe.
On 22.07.2024 a notorious gang targeting morning walkers for gold chains was apprehended by Commissionerate Police, BBSR-CTC. Operating across BBSR-Cuttack-Bhadrak-Balasore, they used motorcycles and “Katuri” (sharp dagger) to instill fear.
An awareness program by the High Efficiency Response (HER) Team was held on 19.07.2024, at CIME, Bhubaneswar. Honored to have ACP Anjana Tudu and SI Subhashree Nayak from the Police Commissionerate gracing the event.
On 18.07.2024 Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar busted a 4-member gang involved in car glass breaking & thefts. The “Tirchi Gang” from Tamil Nadu targeted parked vehicles & public transport across the city. Breaking car windows with slingshots & steal valuables. Pick-pocketing passengers in crowded areas, disposing of stolen goods in Tamil Nadu.
A successful District Level Orientation Workshop on National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) guidelines for cyber-bullying in Schools was held on 18.07.2024 at Govt High School Unit 1, Bhubaneswar. Over 200 Block Education Officers, Headmasters, and Educators were empowered in the workshop. ACP Anjana Tudu from the Police Commissionerate provided valuable insights on Two-factor authentication for enhanced online security. Essential cybersecurity practices to protect our students.

Flag-off ceremony of new PCR vehicles & an Ambulance at Commissionerate Hqrs., Bhubaneswar on 11.07.2024, thanked National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) and Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) for sponsoring 2 PCR Vans and 1 Ambulance.

On 05.04.2024 Info Valley PS of Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar UPD uncovered a robbery masterminded by Somanath Jena, Dipti Ranjan Baliarsingh, Asish Kumar Das, and Smrutiranjan Sethi. Seized items comprise 3 motorcycles pivotal to the crime, a scooter, 3 mobile phones, and a significant cash haul totaling Rs. 9,69,000/-. The recovered money was returned instantly to the complainant.
On 03.04.2024 Commissionerate Police cracks down on inter-state Eragolla gang responsible for a spree of crimes including gold chain snatching, dicky breaking, car glass breaking, and cash bag snatching. 11 accused gang members had been arrested.

On 27.03.2024 Special Crime Unit made a major bust, and recovered 5 semi-automatic weapons, seized a car, mobile phone, and 24 rounds of ammunition. With 2 main suspects named Suraj Parida and Tapudhar Nayak in custody, this marks the latest success in 2024’s crackdown, total of 17 weapons seized so far.
