Who decides whether a stop sign is needed?

The City determines where to place stop signs so that they provide the best benefit to the neighbourhood and City as a whole.  The City’s Engineering Division, working alongside Public Works Operation and Police make the final determination on the placement of stop signs after considering the following: traffic flow, volume, intersection configuration, and traffic accident reports.
