On 13.04.2024 Swift action by Bhubaneswar UPD cracked Case No 276/24, revealing a notorious burglary gang’s operations. Accused persons Kajal, Bitu, Madhu & Sudam and ( Owner of Jagannath Jewellery) receiver nabbed, along with seized items. The gang’s modus operandi and extensive criminal record underscore the need for vigilant community policing.
Cyber Awareness Program at Bentakar Nodal High School under 42 Mauza PS, Cuttack on 13.04.2024 for 100 students was organised and the children learned about vital cyber safety tips, session was taken by Inspector Rashmita, Cyber PS, Cuttack. Let’s empower our children with digital resilience!

On 05.04.2024 Info Valley PS of Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar UPD uncovered a robbery masterminded by Somanath Jena, Dipti Ranjan Baliarsingh, Asish Kumar Das, and Smrutiranjan Sethi. Seized items comprise 3 motorcycles pivotal to the crime, a scooter, 3 mobile phones, and a significant cash haul totaling Rs. 9,69,000/-. The recovered money was returned instantly to the complainant.
On 03.04.2024 Commissionerate Police cracks down on inter-state Eragolla gang responsible for a spree of crimes including gold chain snatching, dicky breaking, car glass breaking, and cash bag snatching. 11 accused gang members had been arrested.

On 27.03.2024 Special Crime Unit made a major bust, and recovered 5 semi-automatic weapons, seized a car, mobile phone, and 24 rounds of ammunition. With 2 main suspects named Suraj Parida and Tapudhar Nayak in custody, this marks the latest success in 2024’s crackdown, total of 17 weapons seized so far.
On 25.03.2024 Commissioner of Police, Sri Sajeeb Panda chaired a special meeting, joined by Addl. CP Awinash Kumar and DCP Bhubaneswar Sri Prateek Singh. Each Inspector-in-Charge of Bhubaneswar UPD presented their action taken reports and future plans. Commissioner Sir emphasized key points including strict enforcement of blocking and checking, combating drunken driving, resolving pending cases, executing pending Non-Bailable Warrants (NBW), and displaying names of evading arrestees publicly.
