  SPECIAL PRIVILEGES FOR WOMEN

1.
Every policeman is duty bound to ensure that women are treated with respect.
2.
In cases, where interrogation of woman witness or arrest of woman accused is concerned, it is binding upon the police to keep a women police personnel present on such occasion.
3.
Female accused person shall be treated with all due dignity, irrespective of the nature of the crime committed by her.
4.
Save in exceptional circumstances, no women shall be arrested after sunset and before sunrise, and where such exceptional circumstances exist, the woman police officer shall, by making a written report, obtain prior permission of the Judicial Magistrate of the first class within whose local jurisdiction the offence is committed or the arrest is to be made.
5.
Female accused persons are to be kept in special hazat earmarked for them in the P.S. If there is no separate room available, they are generally accommodated in another suitable room in the P.S.
6.
 Rape victim may ask for a medical examination to be conducted upon her by a female doctor which must be complied.
