Traffic Training Institute, created
under 7th Finance Commission award came into existence with the motto to train police personnel in different aspects of Traffic training and management.
This Institute has been
redesignated as Urban Police & Traffic Training Institute w.e.f 01.01.08 vide Govt. of Odisha Home Department Notification No.60911/D&A Dt.28/12/07.
It has been
placed under the
administrative
control of
Commissioner of
Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack
since 1st
January 2008. |

The institute imparts
training to police
personnel of different ranks
including SI/Sgt, Havildar,
Driver Havildar, Constables,
Asst. Driver, Fire man &
Home Guards.
Since inception 637 SI/Sgts. in 46 batches,
28 SI CISF in one batch, 1205 Havildars in 25 batches, 133 Constables
in 45 batches, 587 Asst.Driver in 43
batches, 453 Home
Guards in 20
batches, 232 Home
Guards of Twin
City Bhubaneswar- Cuttack
in one day capsule
course
& 167
leading Fireman in 11
batches, total
of 4641
personnel have undergone
training at the
institute.
Besides 18 Batches of Recruit constables (men) consisting of 2318 & 5 batches of
women Recruit
constables,
consisting of 971
personnel have
undergone Basic
Constables course of
Training in this
Institute.
At present, 505 Recruit Sepoys of Special Security
Battalion of Police
Commissionerate,
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack
are undergoing Basic
& Advance training
w.e.f 01.07.2010.
