- Armed Police Reserve of the Commissionerate Police is stationed at the Dist. Reserves both of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar Urban Districts where in they remain in-readiness for dealing with law and order problems and any emergent situations for which they are requisitioned for. Certain portions of the armed reserve are kept in readiness all 24 hours at the Reserve Police Lines for dealing with any situation which needs to be tackled immediately without any delay. This is known as the Striking Force.
- VIP/VVIP security duty.
- Guarding of vitter installations, State Secretariat, Orissa Legislatives Assembly, RBI, High Court of Orissa etc.
- Escorting of
Under Trial
Prisoners to
different courts for
trial.
- Escorting of
cash from branches
of different banks.
- Assisting local police in conducting raids for the purpose of crime control.
